I already had a basic idea of what I wanted IterativeStyles to be, even before it had a proper name. I knew I wanted to create a website where various font and color combinations could be tested out for quick iteration on a few different and simple templates. I started out by listing some of the features the website would need and then I went on to establish the design of the website before working on making it functional. I created the sketches below before I decided to use Wix to create the intial design mockup for IterativeStyles online where anyone could view it with a link.
For keeping track of the tasks to be completed I used Trello as can be seen in the screenshot below. There are still some tasks in the To Do list that I thought I may have had time to complete before the Senior Showcase, but ended up not getting to implement. I also created a Miro board (which can be viewed here) where I kept record and provided screenshots of my weekly tasks completed up until the last few weeks prior to the Senior Showcase. As you can see I established a color scheme for the website that is elegant and subtle, hence my decision to use light, desaturated colors as the main colors of the website. I did not think it was approriate for the website to have colors that disctract from the designs that users would be trying out.
For the Senior Showcase I also had to make a Squarespace page on Iterative styles which can be seen here. It has some more information there including more information about the features I was able to implement. It may still mention a domain for IterativeStyles, but the domain has expired and IterativeStyles instead lives on my porrtfolio website now. From this point forward I would try to make the website work on WordPress, I recreated it there and started adding functionality through code snippets. It proved to be very difficult since WordPress is primarily for static websites, so I hit a wall pretty early on. I soon came to the realization that it would be much easier to just code the entire website from scratch so I did that and it was the best decision for IterativeStyles.
IterativeStyles is a website where you can quicky and easily try out some different font and color combinations on 3 different templates, all online and for free! On May 12th, 2023, I would take part in the Interactive Multimedia Senior Showcase where I would present IterativeStyles and have various people try it out. I was given my own station to setup which consisted of 2 Macs where I would have a looping powerpoint containing information about IterativeStyles on one and the IterativeStyles website set up on the other beside it. Below I will provide some images of what this looked like as well as some images of the final IterativeStyles website which is live only here on this portoflio website.
